Fiber technicians play a key role in building the world-class data centers that bring Meta technologies and programs to life and connect billions of people worldwide.

That’s why Meta is excited to announce LevelUp, a free, four-week training program designed to prepare people in our data center communities for high-demand fiber technician careers. The program is open to applicants nationwide.

LevelUp is a workforce development initiative created and operated by our longtime partner CBRE, a leading real estate and digital infrastructure services firm, and sponsored by Meta. The first training cohorts are expected to launch this summer, with participants learning to install fiber-optic cables, network equipment, racks, and other mission-critical infrastructure at purpose-built training facilities. The program requires no prior experience, is open to applicants from any state, and is completely free — no tuition, no fees, and no financial barriers to entry. Upon successful completion, through our network of contractors, graduates will have the opportunity to work at data center construction sites in the United States.

At its core, LevelUp is about investing in people. Whether someone is a recent high school graduate exploring their options or a mid-career professional seeking a new path, the program offers a clear route into a growing field with competitive earning potential, transferrable skills, and real upward mobility. By creating accessible career pathways in the communities where our data centers are located, we’re strengthening the skilled trades workforce and helping build the talent pipeline that powers the next generation of digital infrastructure.

“We know that the future of AI infrastructure depends on a highly skilled workforce — one that rises to the challenge of building and maintaining the complex systems that power American innovation,” said Dina Powell McCormick, Meta President and Vice Chairman. “By investing in technician training and expanding access to high-quality career opportunities, we’re not just supporting our ambitious infrastructure goals; we’re also empowering thousands of people to do their best work.”

“We are excited to build upon our longstanding partnership with Meta,” said Bob Sulentic, Chair and Chief Executive Officer of CBRE. “We are committed to leveraging the full scope and expertise of CBRE to support Meta in building the digital infrastructure and workforce of tomorrow.”

LevelUp is part of our growing portfolio of community engagement initiatives. Since 2011, Meta data center projects have supported more than 45,000 skilled trade jobs during construction — with 15,000+ currently on a data center site — and created more than 6,000 permanent operational roles. We currently operate or are building 27 data centers in the United States, with more in the planning stages — which means more sites, more jobs, and more opportunity for data center communities nationwide. The program joins our Data Center Community Action Grant Program, an annual initiative that provides direct funding to schools, registered nonprofits, and community organizations working on projects that benefit the communities where our data centers are located.

As the program moves forward, additional training sites will open across the country, expanding access to even more communities near our growing portfolio of data center projects. We’re excited to begin this journey and look forward to seeing LevelUp make a difference in the lives of people across our data center communities.
