Meta data centers are part of the global infrastructure that brings our technologies and programs to life. Our team members make this possible.  Each Meta data center supports hundreds of jobs, including electrical specialists, network engineers, server technicians, security and more. Meta data centers provide quality career opportunities in communities around the world.

Meta data center careers

Cross-functional teams build and keep our data centers operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Here are a few of them:

Design engineering and construction

The DEC team manages the design, engineering, and construction of our highly reliable, safe and efficient data center buildings. This team has experience in construction, project management, quality assurance and infrastructure connectivity.

Site operations

It’s not a data center without servers — and each of our data centers has tens of thousands of them. Site operations ensures these servers are always working and healthy, and that data is secure. This team includes engineers, technology managers and project managers with a deep passion for server operations.

Edge and network services

Robust fiber networks in and out of the data center are critical to data reaching our servers. This guarantees a quality experience for people using our technologies. The ENS team ensures our fiber networks can meet data demands, resulting in over 500,000 individual fiber connections in each of our data center buildings. These team members are network engineers and people with experience in fiber management.

Facility operations

Servers need a cool and stable environment to operate efficiently. From preventative maintenance and contingency planning to proactively addressing building issues, our facility operations team maintains healthy power and environmental conditions at our data centers. This team has experience in building and facility management, electrical, heating and HVAC.

Infrastructure business operations support

We need a lot of equipment across many teams to operate a data center. The IBOS team builds and operates the processes and systems that plan for, report on and supply the equipment to make this happen. These team members have expertise in field logistics, materials management and project management.

Environmental health and safety

Providing a healthy and safe working environment for our teams is essential. The EHS team assesses and manages risk and provides health and safety training to ensure all our team members have the skills to operate safely within our data centers. The EHS team has a background in safety training, inspection services and health science.

Security

Data centers are critical to our technologies and programs, and the security of our data center buildings and those working in them is a top priority. Our security team provides 24-hour monitoring to address risks and security threats. This team includes people with backgrounds in law enforcement, safety and disaster training.

Infrastructure data center strategy

Other components of data centers are site development and community partnerships; these are managed by the IDCS team. Their work includes finding the right location for a data center (site selection); procuring reliable and renewable energy to support data centers (energy); and making sure we are being a good neighbor and giving back to communities (community development). People working on these teams have a broad range of strategy and planning experience — from working at nonprofits to experience in real estate, energy, water and community relations.
