Cheyenne, Wyoming, will be home to our newest Meta data center — our 21st data center in the U.S. and 25th in the world. This 715,000-square-foot campus will be part of our global infrastructure that helps bring our technologies and services to life.

Once completed, the Cheyenne Data Center will represent an investment of more than $800 million and support approximately 100 jobs. We anticipate that more than 1,000 construction workers will be onsite at the peak of construction. Job opportunities for the data center will be on the Meta Careers page in a few weeks. For construction information, please check the Fortis Construction website.

Cheyenne stood out as an outstanding location for Meta to call home for a number of reasons. It provides good access to infrastructure and energy, it has a strong pool of talent, and we have found a great set of community partners that have helped us move this project forward. We’re excited to be a new member of the Cheyenne community and are committed to investing in its long-term vitality.

Meta custom designs and builds our own industry-leading infrastructure at scale, and Meta prioritizes efficiency, flexibility and sustainability. Once operational, the Cheyenne Data Center will be optimized for our AI workloads and help people connect, build communities and grow their businesses.

Meta wants to be a positive contributor in communities like Cheyenne, and that includes investing in the energy grid and supporting local water restoration projects. Meta will work with Black Hills Energy to add new resources to the grid, including renewables. Meta also has a global goal to restore more water than we consume in 2030, and we are partnering with Laramie County Conservation District to help restore Crow Creek, which serves Laramie County and recharges Wyoming’s Ogallala Aquifer.

Meta is proud to work alongside Governor Mark Gordon, the Laramie County, the City of Cheyenne, Wyoming, the Cheyenne LEADS, the Wyoming Business Council, Black Hills Energy, Fortis Construction, and all of our partners that have helped get us to today. We look forward to having a strong partnership for years to come.
