Hello Kuna!

We are thrilled to announce that Meta is joining the Idaho community! Kuna will be home to our newest data center — our 15th data center in the U.S. and 19th in the world. This 960,000+ square foot facility will be an important part of the global infrastructure that brings Meta apps and services to billions of people around the world. Once completed, the data center will represent an investment of more than $800 million and will support approximately 100 jobs.

Kuna stood out as an outstanding location for a number of reasons. It provides good access to infrastructure and renewable energy, has a strong pool of talent, and a great set of community partners. We are excited and proud to be the newest member of this tremendous community.

Meta is committed to being a positive contributor in its data center communities, and that includes investing in renewable energy and water restoration projects. For Kuna, we worked closely with Idaho Power to develop and implement a new green tariff that will allow companies like us to support their operations with 100% renewable energy. Additionally, we have a global goal to restore more water than we consume by 2030. In Idaho, we will be investing in water restoration projects in support of our data center.

Our data centers are among the most advanced, water- and energy- efficient data center facilities in the world. Designing, building, and maintaining facilities that are positive contributors to our communities matters to us. We approach sustainability from the ground up—from design and to operations—by prioritizing energy efficiency, clean and renewable energy, water stewardship and responsible management of equipment across our global fleet end-of-life. The Kuna Data Center will be at least 80% more water efficient than the average data center. Our cooling system relies on outside air for cooling for at least 50% of the year.

We anticipate that over 1,200 construction workers will be on site at the peak of construction. We will start posting job openings for the data center in the next couple of weeks. For construction information, please check the Hensel Phelps website.
