Richland Parish community comes together in wake of Winter Storm Fern

When one of the most challenging winter storms in decades hit Richland Parish, Louisiana, being a good neighbor meant stepping up for those on the front lines — and those most affected.

Meta is proud to stand with the Richland Parish community. In the wake of Winter Storm Fern, we joined forces with local organizations and partners to support recovery efforts across the parish. In Richland Parish, community isn’t just a word — it’s our greatest strength.

Supporting those restoring power

Our general contractors provided critical housing for Entergy linemen working tirelessly to restore power to Richland Parish. Over several days, we housed hundreds of workers, ensuring they had warm, safe places to stay while working around the clock to get the community back on its feet.

Providing hot meals for families in need

In partnership with the Richland Parish Chamber of Commerce, Meta distributed food vouchers from local restaurants to anyone who needed a hot meal. When Meta learned that children in the community could use extra support during a tough week, Meta teamed up with the chamber and Cool Kids Inc. to support meal distribution efforts.

Meta is proud to say we aided the packing of over 1,600 lunches for families across Richland Parish. During both food drive events, Meta provided financial support for the initiative and volunteers to help execute the plan.

Coordinating emergency response

Meta coordinated with the Office of Governor Jeff Landry to ensure one of our suppliers was able to contribute sand needed for roads to support the emergency response.
