INVESTING IN COMMUNITIES
Infrastructure for today and tomorrow
As long-term community partners, we invest in the infrastructure, educational access, and clean energy systems that help communities grow and thrive.

Infrastructure that supports essential services
As part of our work with local governments to plan for and meet our infrastructure needs, we make investments that support community infrastructure. These investments contribute to the long-term vitality of the communities in which we operate — funding new roads, recreational spaces, and water and wastewater infrastructure.
Highlight – Richland Parish
Our Richland Parish Data Center in Louisiana is supporting the Richland Revitalization Board with a donation to fund improvements to regional public parks and community projects.
Advancing communities’ access to Wi-Fi and bridging the digital divide
Grants to the Center on Rural Innovation help support communities near our data centers, including affordable internet for underserved areas, access to free Wi-Fi in downtown Gallatin, Tennessee, and the development of affordable internet plans for local community members in Los Lunas, New Mexico. We also host immersive training demonstrations using Meta Quest headsets, providing over 5,200 students, educators, and community members with a unique opportunity to experience virtual reality in education.
Strengthening local electric grid
We are committed to helping strengthen the grid by supporting the addition of new energy sources and grid modernization. This includes helping pay for new and upgraded local grid infrastructure, like substations and transmission lines, that benefit all consumers, and enabling new energy resources to be added to the grid through our agreements with energy companies, as well as our additional voluntary clean energy purchases. Clean energy projects backed by Meta will add nearly 29 gigawatts to the grid across seven countries and 27 U.S. states, with nearly 12 gigawatts already producing energy.
Investing in the communities where we operate: Richland Parish
In the area surrounding the Richland Parish Data Center, we’re expanding our investment to more than $300 million to help improve local infrastructure, including roads, water and wastewater systems. In partnership with the Richland Revitalization Board, we’re also committing $300,000 to support projects in Richland Parish’s three municipalities — Rayville, Delhi and Mangham — that are focused on improving public parks and restoring the parish’s most iconic establishments.
