Hello, Montgomery!
Montgomery, Alabama, will be home to our newest Meta owned and operated data center — our 20th data center in the United States and 24th in the world. This 715,000-square-foot campus will be part of our global infrastructure that helps bring our technologies and services to life. Once completed, the Montgomery Data Center will represent an investment of more than $800 million and support approximately 100 jobs. We’re proud to become part of Montgomery’s growing tech and innovation ecosystem.
Montgomery stood out as an outstanding location to call home for a number of reasons — it provides good access to infrastructure and renewable energy, it has a strong pool of talent, and we have found a great set of community partners that have helped us move this project forward. We’re excited to be a new member of the Montgomery community and are committed to investing in its long-term vitality.
Meta custom designs and builds our own industry-leading infrastructure at scale, and we prioritize efficiency, flexibility and sustainability. Once operational, the Montgomery Data Center will be optimized for our AI workloads and will help people connect, build communities and grow their businesses. It will be supported by 100% renewable energy through our investments in new renewable projects, and it will achieve LEED Gold certification once it’s operational.
Meta anticipates that more than 1,000 construction workers will be onsite at the peak of construction. Job opportunities for the data center will be available on the Meta Careers page in a few weeks. For construction information, please check the HENSEL PHELPS website.
Meta is proud to work alongside Governor Kay Ivey, the Montgomery County Alabama, the City of Montgomery, Alabama Government, the Alabama Department of Commerce, the Business Council of Alabama, the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce, and all of our partners that have helped get us to today. We are thrilled to join the Montgomery community and look forward to having a strong partnership for years to come.
