Hello, Rosemount!
Rosemount, Minnesota, will be home to our newest Meta data center — our 19th data center in the U.S. and 23rd in the world. This 715,000-square-foot campus will be part of our global infrastructure that helps bring our technologies and services to life. Once completed, the Rosemount Data Center will represent an investment of more than $800 million and support approximately 100 jobs.
Rosemount, Minnesota stood out as an outstanding location to call home for a number of reasons — it provides good access to infrastructure and renewable energy, it has a strong pool of talent, and we have found a great set of community partners that have helped us move this project forward. Meta is thrilled to be a new member of the Rosemount community and is committed to investing in its long-term vitality.
Meta is proud to custom design and build our own industry-leading infrastructure at scale, and we prioritize efficiency, flexibility and sustainability. Once operational, the Rosemount Data Center will be optimized for our AI workloads and will help people connect, find communities and grow their businesses. It will be supported by 100% renewable energy through our investments in new renewable projects and its building will achieve LEED Gold certification.
Meta anticipates that more than 1,000 construction workers will be onsite at the peak of construction. Job opportunities for the data center will be available at Meta Careers in a few weeks. Construction information is available at the Mortenson website.
Meta is thankful to work alongside Governor Tim Walz, the Dakota County Government, the City of Rosemount – Government, the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, GREATER MSP, Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, Xcel Energy, Mortenson, and all of our partners that have helped get us to today. Meta is thrilled to join the Rosemount community and look forward to having a strong partnership for years to come.
