America’s Workforce Academy: Building the skilled trades pipeline

In June, Meta launched America’s Workforce Academy — a nationwide, unprecedented fast-track to a long-term career in a skilled trade, powered by an initial $115 million first year investment. It is the largest private-sector commitment to the skilled trades with a job guarantee in American history.

The first cohort of America’s Workforce Academy began hands-on training in Ohio and Indiana and with it, a new chapter in American workforce development. 

America’s Workforce Academy is building a robust pipeline of skilled trades talent through two dedicated tracks — fiber technician training and construction-ready training. It is a cost-free program with a guaranteed job with a Meta partner after completion. Participants are paid while they train and earn industry-recognized credentials that travel with them across employers and industries.

The United States labor market needs hundreds of thousands of fiber technicians, welders, plumbers, electricians and other skilled trades workers. The first cohort is only the beginning of unlocking opportunities for Americans to access high-paying careers across AI, technology and manufacturing infrastructure.

In partnership with CBRE and the Associated Builders and Contractors, America’s Workforce Academy is operating in Louisiana, Ohio, Indiana and Texas in 2026 — with additional locations expected in 2027.
